The Open eClass platform has been designed with universal accessibility in mind, ensuring that all users, including individuals with disabilities, can use its features easily, effectively, and inclusively.

In this context, the platform has been designed in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, achieving full compliance with the AA level of the Standard. The design and implementation of the user interfaces follow the relevant specifications, ensuring that the content is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for all users.

Indicatively, the following accessibility features are supported:

• Consistent navigation and interface structure, so users can easily locate the available features.
• Full keyboard navigation, without requiring the use of a mouse, with a logical focus order and a visible indication of the active element.
• Compatibility with screen readers through proper HTML semantic structure, the use of ARIA attributes where required, and appropriate descriptions of interface elements.
• Adequate color contrast between text and background, according to the requirements of the Accessibility Standard.
• Ability to adjust font size and zoom the page without loss of functionality or content.
• Clear headings, labels, and instructions for all data entry fields and forms.
• Understandable and descriptive error messages, as well as correction suggestions where required.
• Responsive design, which ensures the proper functioning of the platform across different devices and screen sizes.

Furthermore, the platform is designed to support the use of modern web browsers and assistive technologies, while accessibility is taken into account throughout the software development and maintenance cycle via compliance checks.

The compliance of the Open eClass platform with the Accessibility Standard applies to the software as delivered by the Academic Network GUnet, which bears no responsibility for any deviations from accessibility requirements due to factors outside its sphere of control, such as indicatively:

• Customizations or modifications made in local installations after the delivery of the platform,
• Local settings or installations of software, operating systems, or web browsers, which may affect the performance or appearance of the application, including variations in color rendering or display settings,
• Content, files, images, documents, videos, or other material uploaded or managed by the users or administrators of the platform, if it does not meet the accessibility requirements (for example, missing alternative texts, inaccessible PDF documents, insufficient color contrast, or improper content structure).

The responsibility for maintaining the accessibility of the content entered or published on the platform after its delivery lies solely with the users and/or administrators who create or publish it.
